For the first time in nearly a year, I can say I hate my job. It was a very difficult day. I have a new direct report and getting used to the way he doesn't direct me is maddening. I thought my former boss was vague with instructions, but this one is almost in a fog. Thanks be to our dear Lord that I've been working longer than he's been breathing and I was able to use commen sense and figure out what he wanted. Not only does he have a indecipherable hand, he uses a fine point pen. Feathers..............
Our division is giving a briefing tomorrow and I was able to fumble my way through a 15 page presentation with only one page left to do in the morning. That is if the jerk doesn't decide he has other edits to be done before I send it off to the color printer.
When I took this job, I didn't mean to work this hard. Dear Lord, please remind me how lucky I really am. And thank you for this wonderful, orange smoochie cat that really does know when I'm upset. (ACHOOOOO....if he only knew I was allergic to him.)
:o)
To my friend BK...............yer it, Bud.

Meet the rest of the clan...

I live with 3 cats. Or shall I say, they let me live with them. If you are a cat person, you know exactly what I mean. This is Jake. He and his litter mate Susie, came to me from a friend who found them abandoned in the bushes along a country road in rural West Virginia. They were almost 6 weeks old and I could hold both of them in my palm. Now they will be 4 in May. That should account for his behavior. He's about the age of a sassy, 9 year old boy. :o) I'm searching for decent pictures of the other 2.

First photo

The first picture I will post is of my two Russian kids. Our church sponsors an orphanage in Ivanovo, Russia. A lower middle class, blue collar city where kids don't have much chance for advancement. I've been to the orphanage twice, the latest was in November 2005. I may not go back again and I may not see these two wonderful kids again, but at least I have "Our Family Portrait". They mean the world to me and I want the most wonderful life for them both. From left to right is Dasha, age 15, Mom, age undisclosed and Sasha, age 16. I love them both very much. I think they like me. Can you tell that from the photo? :o)
First day - so far...so good
A dear friend recently sent me the link to his new blog. I liked what I saw. It has spurred to me try this once again. I had a 'journal' last year, but quit writing in it in July. It became a chore, so as long as that doesn't happen again, I'll do this.
